Martin Donozo has joined Easy Mondays as their newest director, marking another milestone in his 12-year career in the film and commercial industry. Known for his deeply narrative approach and passion for innovation, Martin has directed award-winning campaigns that have made a lasting impact in the world of advertising.
The Argentinian filmmaker's journey into the world of film and commercial directing began at the young age of 20. "From the beginning, I had this burning desire to direct. I began with music videos and short films, all while working in advertising”. Martin recalls. “It’s been over 12 years now, and with each passing year, new challenges and new ways of telling stories arise. I always keep my vision intact, but I'm constantly updating my own narratives."
His work includes a standout campaign for Degree INC that won the Grand Prix at Cannes Lions Innovation in 2021, a testament to his dedication to the craft. "That campaign was incredible in every way - from pre-production to the final result”, he reflects. “When you do something that is interesting and looks good, first you feel good about yourself, and then the industry makes you notice it.”
Martin’s approach to directing is deeply rooted in narrative storytelling. "My style has always been characterized by storytelling," he explains. "I think it's what comes naturally to me and at the same time it's what I enjoy and like the most. Narratives for emotional, deep or also comedy stories. In recent years I've also focused on giving humanity and going deeper into the stories behind car commercials."
His inspiration comes from finding the beauty in the mundane: "scenes of everyday life, the street, family, and friends. I think that it’s unconsciously about the desire to try to leave a message or generate entertaining content so that people have a good time, even if it's just watching advertising."
Joining Easy Mondays represents another significant step in Martin’s career, one that aligns with his vision and values. "Easy Mondays is a serious production company with a long history in the country. After talking with Asori (founder/EP), we’re both very happy to be able to collaborate and work together."
As he launches this new chapter, Martin remains focused on pushing creative boundaries. "The idea is to continue making good advertising - commercials that have visual craft but also narrative content. That’s what drives me. I believe in collaborative work, and that’s what I’m looking for here, to nourish each other so that the projects flow in the best way." assured Martin, "I rely heavily on my team when I work - I listen, I exchange opinions. This is a job that is done as a team; there is no such thing as doing it alone, and that’s the beauty of our work."
