Magic Edit has announced that well-loved editor Meg Thorne has joined the fast-growing new London and Amsterdam edit collective.
Meg is an established film editor with over 15 years experience. Having previously resided at The Quarry, she has edited a wide range of commercials for well known brands such as Amex, eBay, Google, Meta and Levi’s to name a few plus a vast music video portfolio cutting for an array of artists such as Lewis Capaldi, Lily Allen, Ashnikko and Paloma Faith.
With a keen eye for detail and rhythm, her exceptional edit skills and a penchant for choreography based projects has seen Meg collaborate regularly with directors who connect with her vison. One of her all time favourite choreography led pieces is a short film called Filter Face, which deep dives into Snapchat Dysmorphia. It had outstanding recognition across multiple festivals and scooped up GOLD at the Berlin Commercial Festival 2020.
Meg has also received ‘Best Editor’ nomination at the Kinsale Sharks Awards and a bulk of her work has continuously been shortlisted across categories at the UK Music Video Awards.
Alongside the above accomplishments, recent long form work includes a project co-edited for Depeche Mode called 'Spirits in the Forest', directed by Anton Corbjin and screened in cinemas worldwide receiving five star reviews.
Meg Thorne’s arrival at Magic Edit marks an incredibly exciting launch period for Magic Edit. Alongside editors Vanessa Wood and Sam Hopkins, Magic Edit are paving their way into a nimble new way of working with clients and brands encompassing flexibility, craft, creativity and equality at their very core.
