Studio recognised for its commitment to innovation, creative culture and employee support

Fast Company announced its fourth annual Best Workplaces for Innovators list, honouring organisations and businesses that demonstrate a steadfast commitment to encouraging innovation at all levels. Made Music Studio came in at No. 43 for its commitment to innovation, creative culture, and employee support at its award-winning sonic banding and design studio.

Developed in collaboration with Accenture, the 2022 Best Workplaces for Innovators ranks 100 winners from a variety of industries, including computer science, biotech, consumer packaged goods, nonprofit, education, financial services, cybersecurity, engineering, diversity, sustainability, B2B, and consumer products and services. Fast Company editors and Accenture researchers worked together to score nearly 1,500 applications, and a panel of eight eminent judges reviewed and endorsed the top 100 companies. The 2022 awards feature workplaces from around the world.

"It’s truly an honor to be recognised by Fast Company for our culture of innovation. To be the highest ranking marketing/creative agency is a testament to all the hard work we have put in over the past few years to evolve the way we think about creativity, innovation and life balance," said Lauren McGuire, President of Made Music Studio. "From launching our internal tech and innovation incubator, democratising our PTO policy, our investment has dramatically improved our company culture, energy and spirit of collaboration."

Made Music Studio was recognised for its work in human capital, workplace culture and innovation. As audio branding reaches billions of people each year through advertising and media, Made Music has been a driver of change on behalf of their clients and creator community. They are committed to improving equity within the music industry and are redefining what it means to be an actively anti-racist company. In partnership with global community development organisation Decolonize Design, with their unique framework of Belonging, Dignity, Justice and Joy, Made Music instituted a number of progressive policies and goals such as a democratised PTO program that not just offers 28 paid days off for all employees regardless of seniority level, but also incentivises PTO with twice-yearly bonuses for taking 5 consecutive days off in a row.

In terms of world-leading design solutions, Made Music Studio launched its internal incubator VentureSonic in 2021. Their innovation arm is focused on new areas of exploration in the world of audio including sonic design for autonomous vehicles, digital platforms, the future of retail and work environments and advancements in experience and industrial design.

“This year’s list of the Best Workplaces for Innovators recognises organisations that have demonstrated a deep commitment to cultivating creativity across the board,” says Brendan Vaughan, editor-in-chief of Fast Company. “In the face of powerful headwinds, these leaders and teams continue to spur innovation.”
