Also the super well prepared crew - Spain enjoys top crew with wide international experience across all departments, DPs, production designers, stylists. If it’s not required, there’s no need to fly out anyone but the director.

LBB> What location would you say is most popular?

Roads for car commercials are definitely among the top choices. Spain offers endless long roads cutting through breath-taking landscapes, from coastal highways with ocean views to winding mountain paths. They’re perfect for showcasing any vehicle in stunning settings that leave you in awe.

LBB> Which location would you describe as the biggest attribute to local production?

It’s hard to choose just one type of location that stands out in Spain because clients know they can find everything here.

Just to pick one, beaches are probably the first thing that comes to mind when thinking about Spain. From long stretches of golden sand to small bays with crystal-clear waters, we can offer it all. You’ll also find hidden coves tucked beneath dramatic cliffs and wild pebble beaches with untouched natural beauty. There's truly a beach for every vibe and every project.

But urban locations are just as popular. What’s great about cities like Barcelona and Madrid is their versatility—they can easily double as any international city, offering a wide range of looks and styles to fit different projects.

Also, Spain boasts an incredible variety of houses with versatile interiors, perfect for hosting productions and recreating a wide range of possibilities.

LBB> Explain the climate and the best/worst times to shoot in Spain?

There's never a bad time to shoot in Spain. Spring might bring a touch more rain compared to other seasons, but even then, it's far from predictable. With Spain's consistently favourable weather, you can plan your project with confidence almost any time of the year.

LBB> What specific work permits/Visas are required to shoot in Spain?

Generally speaking, no specific visas are required for filming in Spain. However, regarding permits, it’s important to note that locations may need anywhere from a week to 15 days for approval, depending on their nature. Additionally, if the shoot involves minors, special permits are mandatory to allow them to work on set.

LBB> How is the infrastructure in Spain for supporting large productions?

Spain offers all the necessary infrastructure and logistics to support any large-scale international production. From a wide range of camera and grip equipment to an extensive selection of studios, including virtual studios, Spain is well-equipped to meet the needs of any project.

As mentioned earlier, the country also boasts a top-skilled crew and high quality, diverse casting talent. With its robust production capabilities, Spain can host any kind of production, catering to all the specific requirements that may arise.

LBB> What have been your biggest/most successful production in Spain to date?

We’ve worked on so many productions over the years, and it’s always tough to pick just one, as every project—no matter the scale—brings its own unique challenges.

Take the Maui Jim film directed by Neels Castillon, for example. Shot across several of the Canary Islands, we had to recreate lush, diverse landscapes to mimic a Hawaiian vibe.

While the islands are fully equipped for production, coordinating the movement of crew and equipment between locations added an extra layer of complexity. But the result? A stunning film with jaw-dropping landscapes that truly capture the vision.

On the other hand, the Monzo film directed by Marie Schuller was entirely in-studio. This shoot demanded precision from the art department, styling team, and production to seamlessly deliver a variety of scenes. The collaboration was key, and the final result is a creatively bold project we’re incredibly proud of.

LBB> Insider recommendations. Where would you suggest a foreign production stay while they are in Spain?

Both Barcelona and Madrid have some great hotel options to make your stay awesome.

In Barcelona, we love recommending Casa Bonay—it's a cool, modern spot right in the centre of the city with a relaxed, creative vibe. If you're after something a bit fancier, Seventy Hotel is a great shout, with a really nice restaurant and a more upscale feel.

And if you’re looking for pure luxury, Hotel Majestic, a grand and iconic hotel in the heart of Barcelona, guarantees an exceptional experience. These are awesome choices out of dozens of options, depending on the vibe you're after.

LBB> Where are the best bars/restaurants? Any hidden gems you could suggest?

The best restaurants are pretty much everywhere in Spain!

It’s a true paradise for fresh market food and wines, with endless options to choose from. You’ve got everything from traditional Mediterranean dishes by the sea to more exotic options, plus three Michelin-starred spots and top-notch tapas in casual yet exquisite settings.

In Barcelona, Gresca is a compact, chic spot with an open kitchen serving up inventive, upscale tapas paired with great wine.

Another classic is Cañete, known for its seafood paella, duck cannelloni, and clams in a polished yet inviting setting, along with a fantastic selection of local wines.

Just come and enjoy working while soaking in the finest art and architecture, tasting some of the best food in the world, enjoying great weather, and meeting warm, welcoming people. You can visit iconic spots like the Sagrada Familia, El Prado Museum, or catch a Barça or Real Madrid match.
