LBBonline forms new partnership to celebrate creativity in Japanese advertising and production

Little Black Book Opens in Japan

Expanding its foothold as the world’s fastest growing creative news channel, Little Black Book has announced its latest franchise partnership – in Japan. 
From May, founder of award-winning creativehybrid, Andrew Thomas will be bringing LBBonline to the local Japanese market as Managing Director. Facilitating better brand coverage, talent exposure and international media development for the advertising industry in Japan, the partnership will effectively combine Andrew’s experience and local market knowledge with Little Black Book’s international reach. 

Matt Cooper, CEO of Little Black Book, says: “After the success of our partnership with Campaign Brief in Australia and New Zealand, we are looking to expand further into all key markets, and so finding the right partner in Japan is very important to our overall global growth. 

“We are huge admirers of some of the work coming out of Japan and, like other great creative hubs, we see it our mission to bring it to a global audience. It’s essential to have someone there with specialisation in the local market, who understands how important it is for the country to be read about and celebrated globally, and we look forward to achieving that aim with Andrew as our partner. 

Having founded creativehybrid in 2002, Andrew has worked as a creative director and executive producer for ad and entertainment productions, in both local and global markets, and has worked with renowned global trade press. As part of the relationship, Andrew will represent Little Black Book locally, as well as grow the wider LBBonline community through membership to the global site. 

Andrew comments on the partnership: “I’m excited to be joining such an inclusive global creative brand. The continual development of new talent, innovative technology and outstanding infrastructure are real assets of the Japanese industry, though the best creative work has only been exposed internationally via ad festivals, awards and occasional media features. Little Black Book’s worldwide readership will be an excellent and regular platform for local creative offerings, with the added benefit of providing Japanese brands, marketeers and creators a greater degree of international recognition, exchange and understanding.

This is the latest in Little Black Book’s global partnerships; the brand forged their first franchise with Campaign Brief in ANZ in 2015, and have since been collaborating with industry associations around the world, to provide creative support and platform for local markets.
