Julia embarked on her directing journey starting with music videos, quickly getting recognition for her talent and creativity. In 2012, she was honoured as the Best Music Videos Director of the year by the Australian portal Genero.tv, specialising in music videos.
Known for her creativity and adeptness in working with actors, Julia is celebrated as one of the top commercial female directors in Europe. In 2017, her directorial efforts were awarded at Cannes Lions, with two of her films receiving Silver and Bronze Lions.
Julia holds degrees in psychology from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and directing from the Warsaw Film School. During her academic years, she directed the short film "Gorzko, Gorzko!" which earned acclaim at the Two Riversides Film Festival in 2014. The film also received nominations at the Gdynia Film Festival and Lubuskie Lato Filmowe short film competition.
Julia's directorial portfolio extends beyond music videos and short films; she has lent her creative vision to a multitude of commercial projects, including campaigns for brands like House, Modivo, Samsung, McDonald's, Love, and Lempsip. "Sara’s Bungalow" marks her debut as a feature film director, showcasing her multifaceted talent and storytelling prowess.

LBB> Tell us something interesting about Morocco and is that the place you currently feel like you belong in the most?
Julia> According to tradition, it is the liver and not the heart that is considered the symbol of love here. and yes my liver is fully in love with this place.
LBB> What’s your favourite food-related memory?
Julia> Eating real chocolate for first time, I was allergic till I was 10 - so big deal for me.
LBB> Share with us your guilty pleasure. And a sport you’d like to be good at.
Julia> I never feel guilty about pleasure. I wish I would be good at pole jumping, but I'm afraid of heights.
LBB> If you’d need to pick where you draw your inspiration from - based on the last three questions - would it be places, foods or guilty pleasures?
Julia> I think places - I like to attach colours to places I visit - it's something I notice first.
LBB> Is there a commercial you'd like to develop into a movie?
Julia> If I could I would transform my Modivo commercials into a crazy sci-fi feature
LBB> Can you name a project that changed the course of your career, in an unexpected way?
Julia> Honestly - no.
LBB> How do you collaborate with actors in order to get the best emotions out?
Julia> It very much depends on project and time we have. But in general I really like to ask questions before giving any directions.
LBB> Your reel has both amazing fashion and post production spots. Which process is more fun to work on?
Julia> Post production lets me bring my craziest ideas to the screen that's why I love it so much.
LBB> Dream client?
Julia> I'm very much into cars - so Porsche!
LBB> Shooting on 35MM film - love it or hate it?
Julia> Forever love for the film!
LBB> What’s your take on AI?
Julia> I really loved the AI yearbook trend :P But seriously I think that what history thought us is that we overestimate the potential of new technologies, and it already happened with AI in the 60s and 80s.
LBB> What is your advice to producers in order to keep our film sets more eco friendly?
Julia> I think the the first step is always working with crew that is willing to follow the green film production objectives.
