Giles Hedger, Leo Burnett’s Group Managing Director & Chief Strategy Officer, says: “I have known since I hired him in 2009 that Josh has Dalai Lama qualities, and I am delighted that the time has now come for the agency to feel their full effect."

During his career Bullmore has had extensive experience across a wide range of brands including Audi, BA, Canon and Microsoft but has also worked on many government campaigns.

He started his career as a graduate trainee at Bates Dorland working on campaigns for the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and the Prime Minister’s Strategic Communications Unit.

In 2004, inspired by the potential for digital he joined the digital agency GT, as head of planning. He moved to M&C Saatchi in 2006 where his work on the relaunch of PC World won Silver at the 2009 Account Planning Group awards. He also worked across the Lucozade portfolio, helping Lucozade Sport win a 2008 Silver IPA effectiveness award.

Since joining Leo Burnett, Bullmore has worked on a number of consumer and government campaigns. These include the Department for Transport’s Think! campaign, where his IPA Paper reviewing 30 years of Drink Drive campaigns won Gold at the recent IPA Effectiveness Awards, the Bacardi Group and Freeview. He currently leads the planning for Kellogg’s in the UK. Bullmore is also responsible for Comms Planning across the Leo Burnett Group.

“I’m delighted to be appointed as Head of Planning,” says Bullmore. “This is a big department full of exciting planning personalities. We’re going to make our mark on 2013.”

Bullmore’s appointment follows the departure of previous Head of Planning, Mark Tomblin, for a new role in Toronto as Head of Planning for Taxi.
