Leo Burnett Malaysia rose over regional rivals to secure the gold for Southeast Asia PR Consultancy of the Year at the prestigious PRWeek Asia Awards 2014 held in Hong Kong last Thursday 26 June 2014, proving their prowess and distinguishing themselves as a truly integrated communications agency.
Rising above regional rivals from Singapore, Thailand, Philippines, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam, Leo Burnett’s public relations team won the judges over with their client satisfaction scores and endorsements, client growth, financial growth, talent retention and development as well as achievements and innovation in the field of public relations.
Tan Kien Eng, CEO or Leo Burnett Malaysia stated, “This is indeed a great privilege to be recognized not just for our creative advertising work, but also for our other areas of expertise including public relations. Our core ‘HumanKind’ philosophy clearly resonates across all our communications disciplines, where keen understanding of human behavior will result in meaningful work that has the power to affect change in people and communities.”
“We are deeply honoured that the judges, our industry peers, have recognized our efforts in such a big way and among such competitive company. We especially want to thank our valued clients for having given us their unending support and the opportunity to produce our best work,” said Magdalene Lee, Director of Public Relations, who heads the PR team at Leo Burnett/ Arc Worldwide, Malaysia.
Leo Burnett’s PR department achieved an unprecedented new business growth of 76 per cent and succeeded by restructuring to create “the agency of the future”, focusing on creativity in both public relations and social media.
The PRWeek Awards, now in their 13th year, have become an unrivalled benchmark for the region’s communications industry, in alignment with the global PRWeek brand and its awards programmes in the US and the UK. They are unique in their efforts to shine the spotlight on the work, communicators and agencies in Asia-Pacific that are defining, cutting-edge, and that drive the public relations industry forward. They showcase the industry’s best and brightest, honouring clients and agencies for the strategies, people and achievements that have transformed businesses and brands. The judging panel comprised leading senior communications executives across the Asia-Pacific region from in-house ranks, as well as agencies.
Leo Burnett Malaysia’s public relations division also clinched Gold for PR Agency of the Year at the regional Campaign Asia-Pacific Awards in December 2013 in Singapore, and retained their Gold for PR Agency of the Year for the 3rd consecutive year at the recent A+M Awards 2014 in Malaysia.
“Our success ultimately stems from our people and we are always on the lookout for creativity and passion, people who are willing to do what it takes. I’m very thankful and privileged to work with an incredible team who put their energy and drive into giving their very best,” stated Magdalene.
