Leagas Delaney has been appointed by The Fund for Global Human Rights. The organisation, founded in 2002 to fill a gap in the philanthropy sector by driving more resources to locally-led human rights groups, has appointed the agency to develop a strategic comms positioning, messaging framework and an integrated campaign.
The Fund for Global Human Rights (the Fund) equips grassroots activists and organisations with the money, tools, contacts, and strategic support they need to build a better future for their communities. Since 2002, the Fund has raised and invested over $124 million into the work of grassroots activists in more than 50 countries. As a result, oppressive laws have been replaced, harmful norms have been changed, landmark legal cases have been won, and vulnerable or marginalised communities have protected their rights and freedoms.
Gareth Davies, CEO, Leagas Delaney said “The Fund takes a different approach to other charitable bodies, focussing on tackling the systemic issues that create inequality, poverty and discrimination by working with activists to change laws, win legal battles and shift behaviours in their communities. It’s vital work and we’re proud to be partnering with the Fund to help spread its mission wider.”
Robin Pierro, director of communications and marketing said “For the vast majority of our 20 year existence, we’ve worked behind the scenes, without much investment in building our public presence. As our model evolves, it’s becoming increasingly important that our brand is visible and our work is clearly understood. The team at Leagas Delaney understand the importance of this and of helping us to engage a wider donor audience in our work. We’re thrilled to be working with them.”
