Lacoste L!VE reflects a new state of mine, a way of being in sync with the energy in the world today. The line is fuelled by the brand’s original values and an offbeat, stylistic approach that has been inspired by urban living. Through a blend of dynamism, vintage and flash colour, it combines on-trend style with an old-school look. After Paris and Berlin, this new campaign is set to visit New York where the new L!VE collection shall be promoted through a street art project.
New York artist Aakash Nihalani is one of the chosen collaborators for this campaign. After studying art at NYU, his work has gained a reputation for its immediacy, vitality and simplicity. He has created unique works of art that serve as a guide and artistic direction for the Lacoste campaign. The contrast between the bright colours of his art and those of the urban landscapes that surround are what make Aakash’s work such a radical antidote to monotony. Taking adhesive tape in bright and neon colours, he outlines imaginary perspectives using different elements within the street. This new and creative form of street art coveys a feeling of energy that is heightened by the use of flashy colours. “Lacose L!VE feat Brooklyn artist” showcases the work of Aakash Nihalani and some of his fans.
Famous LA street blogger Mark Hunter, also known as his alias “The Cobrasnake” photographed the world and captured the brand’s artistic influence with a raw and authentic vibe.
The campaign is being rolled out in print and digital format, which feature other NYC artists who have collaborated, such as electro pop artist Amanda Warner (alias MNDR), Heartsrevolution and Micah Lidberg who has designed a pop up collection for SS/2012 season.
