Finding his way to the ad industry through a love for drawing and art, Kuba Kozłowski started at Bites Studios as a producer and occasional production manager before transitioning into head of production in May 2022. Through his career he has collaborated with many global clients and directors, citing his work with Nivea and Arthur Valverde as a personal favourite.
In this interview with LBB, Kuba charts his creative influences growing up, shares his proudest achievements to date and reveals what he’s most excited about for the future.
LBB> Tell us about your influences growing up and how you ended up in the creative industry.
Kuba> Growing up in London exposed me to diverse cultures and perspectives, and allowed me to thrive in an international environment. As a creative and ambitious individual, I always sought to live and work where my passions lay. While I never initially planned to work in the media/advertising industry, my love for drawing and art eventually led me to this field through serendipity.
LBB> Throughout your career journey, who or what has been your biggest source of inspiration?
Kuba> I have always been a vocal and fair person, drawing inspiration from the producers and production managers I've encountered in my life. Learning from them, I strive to strike a balance that benefits the companies I work for, the people I work with, and those I work alongside. Building and maintaining relationships is of paramount importance, and being a good person is equally essential.
LBB> What have been some of your proudest achievements in your career so far?
Kuba> Looking back at my career, I take immense pride in the transformative growth and achievements we have accomplished at Bites. As the head of production, one of my proudest accomplishments has been leading a highly specialised in-house team that excels in delivering high-end videos and photography with a particular focus on food and beauty. Together, we have successfully completed hundreds of projects, spanning various production models and complexities.
Moreover, I am thrilled to have been part of the evolution of Bites as a prominent production hub, integrating creativity with cutting-edge technologies. Our unique approach has allowed us to nurture long-term relationships with clients while supporting and collaborating with an array of visual artists, directors, DoPs, and photographers. Looking back, I am proud of our reputation as a smart and forward-thinking production hub, and I'm excited for the continued journey of excellence
LBB> What are some of the projects you remember most fondly and why?
Kuba> The Nivea project with Arthur Valverde is particularly memorable to me. It was a beauty/experimental project, different from the typical tabletop projects we undertake. Although it's still in post-production, I am confident that it will be something truly remarkable. While we have always worked on such projects, it was rewarding to witness more companies recognising Bites as not merely a tabletop studio but also a hub for beauty, cosmetics, and experimental ventures.
LBB> What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?
Kuba> The most valuable advice I have received emphasises the importance of fostering strong relationships and conducting thorough analyses of our work. These aspects are critical in our industry, where an open and meticulous mindset is incredibly valuable.
LBB> What are you most excited about achieving this year?
Kuba> As mentioned earlier, I am thrilled about the shift in people's perception, recognising Bites as a full-service provider beyond just a tabletop studio. Additionally, our sister company TILT has gained attention, offering creators the opportunity to explore motion control outside of studio settings. For instance, we recently showcased TILT's MoCo robot in action during the shooting of an epic fighting scene for a notable Polish Netflix movie, achieving excellent results.
