New York-based full-service agency and creative production studio KUAMP have announced impressive four wins at the 2022 Telly Awards. Passionate about creating authentic and emotive films, the creative studio engages audiences by weaving unexpected moments throughout their work.
The Telly Awards celebrate those who use their creativity and ingenuity and showcase the best work created within local, regional and cable television commercials and digital video. With over 12,000 entries annually from around the world, the selected winners represent work from some of the most respected advertising agencies, television stations, production companies and publishers from around the world.
Founded by director and CCO Antonio ‘Tronic’ McDonald, KUAMP scooped up two awards for their spot for HP, ‘First Day’, and two awards for the short film, ‘SONStories - Still A King’ for Moms of Black Boys United (MOBB) – a non-profit organisation providing support and information for mothers of Black boys and men.
‘First Day’ for HP was awarded Silver in the Non-Broadcast General-Sales category and Bronze in the Non-Broadcast Direct-Marketing category. The film shows a young man on his first day at a new job in New York; from getting ready in his apartment, to receiving his new HP laptop and working at a coffee shop. A fresh spin on what we expect from technology advertising, the trendy film spotlights the young man, as well as the product.
Winning Silver in the Social Video General-Social Impact category and Bronze in the Social Video General-Not For Profit category, ‘SONStories - Still A King’, tells the story of a young artist Tyler Gordon, who we see painting a portrait of Martin Luther King Jr. As the empowering spot progresses and more of Tyler's painting is unveiled, it is revealed that he is telling a story of his own disability and the obstacles he has faced - and yet through it all, he is still a king.
Antonio ‘Tronic’ McDonald, founder and CCO at KUAMP, comments: “Our work is filled with emotive and humanistic characteristics. Having been recognized for this by the Telly committee is an amazing feeling and sense of pride. We'll continue doing more of this type of
work and leading with empathy. 2023's looking very bright! We're currently working with a blue chip tech company on something very special to close/open the year. Our focus for 2023 is momentum... We will continue to lead with empathy and authenticity to help our clients make their stories relevant.”
