citizenM hotel — the affordable luxury hotel with nearly 30 locations worldwide — is marking the opening of 5 new hotels across America, and 1 in London with a series of multi-storey window exhibitions which celebrate the idiosyncrasies of sleep.
London-based, Jamaican-born photographer, Amber Pinkerton created a series of portraits, capturing a diverse group of citizens. Shot from the perspective of the pillow, these intimate images highlight the physicality of sleep, with fully rested faces contorting in ways they never would whilst awake.
The first exhibition, on the new citizenM London Victoria consists of 98 windows which celebrate the similarities, differences, and eccentricities as the group sleep, snooze, play, and dance in their dreams.
This is also the first time citizenM have brought a ‘citizens’ exhibition to London, having previously hosted them in various cities across the US and Europe, including: LA, San Francisco, Copenhagen and New York.
‘Citizens of sleep’ is open for all – day and night – throughout July and beyond, in London Victoria, with a number of exhibitions in the US to follow later this year.
