kbs+ Take Imperfect Parents on the Road

New work for the Ad Council

 

Building on an award winning campaign to promote the adoption of teenagers in foster care, Kirshenbaum Bond Senecal + Partners (kbs+) is taking the idea that “you don’t have to be perfect to be a perfect parent” on the road. The kbs+ team created a series of window decals that spoof the ubiquitous family stickers proudly displayed on rear windows of minivans in America. Created for AdoptUSKids and the Ad Council, the decals allow families to show their support for adoption in a fun and clever way.
 
The decals build on a larger campaign in which kbs+ created a series of PSAs that bring to life relatable “imperfect parent” situations – such as a father who secretly spends hours trying to bake the perfect batch of cookies for his teens. The campaign also includes “Oh Parents,” a social media platform that connects parents via Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr to share their own “imperfect parent” moments.
 
The new work by kbs+ comes at a crucial time. More than 33,000 American teenagers are in foster care, 50 percent of whom are between the ages of 14 and 16.
