UK-born editor Joel Miller returns from New York to edit three advertising campaigns with director Mark Denton

Joel Miller makes an emphatic return to Cut+Run’s London HQ for a hat-trick of commercials with Another Film Company’s Mark Denton. Miller, who moved to Cut+Run’s New York office in 2007, has frequently enjoyed returning to his motherland to continue his UK career, as well as thriving in the US.

Keeping it very British indeed, Denton and Miller collaborated on the latest PG Tips campaign for Mother London. The series of commercials feature PG’s favourite knitted protagonist Monkey who plans on “flushing his Winter blues out the back door”… We all know what you’re thinking, but no, Monkey opts to give himself a spring clean with a mug of PG’s new Green Tea instead. The fun comedy-dialogue spot, oozes Denton-esque style and flair… What more could you want?!

According to Mark, “I was probably one of Cut+Run's first customers (I'm still proud of the running scissor logo that I designed for them) and I first met Joel when he was Steve Gandolfi's assistant. Since then we've worked on hundreds of commercials together. I'm so glad that he's been using up his air miles to come back from NY and edit my jobs. He's a brilliant editor with a keen eye for comedy.”

Joel added, “I love returning to UK for editing projects – The Cut+Run London Office has a great vibe. It’s lovely to catch up with the editors there that I’ve known for years and to meet new staff that have joined since moving to the US. Editing with Mark is always a pleasure, it’s like working with one of your best friends - We’ve had a lot of fun on these last three projects.”

As well as PG Tips, the pair have collaborated on spots for Plenty and Airwick to round off their hat-trick of comedy gold advertising this quarterly.
