The Book of Man podcast returns with a raft of A-list talent for a 20-show second series in partnership with Talisker Whisky
Following the huge success of its first series, Book Of Man columnist, ‘SAS Who Dares Wins’ directing staff and ex-royal marine Jason Fox returns this May with series two of The Wild Tales Podcast in partnership with Talisker, the award-winning single malt whisky made by the sea on the Isle of Skye.

The podcast will return today with a raft of new guests who will share stories of adventure and resilience, whilst enjoying a dram of the rugged, luxury whisky Talisker. The new run of episodes will be focussing on these current uncertain times and why resilience is more important than ever. An array of impressive guests confirmed for the new series include; Mark Ormrod, Ed Stafford, Locksmith from Rudimental and Ross Edgley with many more to be announced.

The series is designed to inspire listeners to overcome the hardest of challenges through tales of amazing people and wild spirits overcoming adversity. In light of social distancing measures, communication tech will be used to record, video stream and broadcast the podcasts to the already
loyal audience until normal service can be resumed. Alongside this, all guests on the podcast will be gifted a bottle of Talisker 10 Year Old to enjoy a 'virtual' dram with Jason Fox during their interview.

This launch comes swiftly after just six initial episodes, whereby The Wild Tales Podcast became one of the fastest co-branded podcasts to enter the iTunes Charts, hitting number eight of all UK podcasts with its final episode in January. The previous series included guests; Aldo Kane, Jay Morton, Dwayne Fields , Frankie Bridge and Mark Beaumont. Since then, it has continued to hold positions in the top ten across various categories.

Its mix of gripping tales and focus on mental resilience has been an astonishing hit with listeners reaching an average of 65k listeners per episode after just two months. The Podcast has been promoted across Jason’s social channels, including his highly engaged Instagram audience, while also being hosted on the Book of Man website. The Podcast is available on all platforms and will also be hosted via Entale on The Book of Man website.

This renewal is a new evolution in The Book of Man’s commercial ambitions and will signal the launch of a brand new service for advertisers and talent called BOMcast. Bringing its extensive mix of contributors together with brands to create mass reach as well as niche topic podcasts for the
modern man. With Self Care and Resilience covered, they will be exploring other important and relevant topics series such as Sex Positivity, Fitness and Health, Relationships, New Masculinity, Sport and Culture.

BOMcast will act as a talent sourcing hub as well as an opportunity to bring advertisers closer to audiences as podcasts continue to prove effective in driving brand recall and social engagement. A new recording facility will be announced in 2020 to further develop our ability to expand the canon.
Jason Fox said: “I'm delighted to be going ahead with season two of the Wild Tales Podcast with The Book of Man and Talisker, whose single malts are a big favourite of mine. Our first stint was hugely enjoyable and I'm looking forward to speaking to more top guests about their inspiring, adventurous lives.”

The Book of Man added: "Jason’s background and commitment to promoting resilience combined with Talisker’s commitment to supporting ‘Wild Spirits’ and adventure has resulted in a truly fabulous partnership. It’s now more important than ever for society to hear tales of hope and endurance and the guests we have had on board so far have been nothing short of inspiring. We are delighted to be continuing this partnership as we enter a bit of an unknown time. Our podcast audience has grown significantly in the last six months and we will be aiming to bring ever more new shows to satisfy the consumption habits of our listeners."
