Luenta joins as creative director, Cotton as regional planning director

DDB Group Singapore has hired Iu La Lueta (left) and Neil Cotton (right) to add to its creative and strategic arsenal.

Lueta joins DDB Group Singapore, head-hunted from Alma DDB where he was ECD of Content, through DDB’s global talent mobility programme. In his new role as creative director, he will join creative chairman Neil Johnson and CCO Chris Chiu to bring to life DDB’s new creative spirit, ‘Move Beyond Reason’.

With an impressive track record over 15 years in the industry, Lueta has won multiple Cannes Lions – including two gold, four silver, and five bronze in 2017 for Netflix Narcos. He has worked on McDonald’s, Netflix, Coca-Cola, Volkswagen, Chupa Chups, Bayer, Green Peace, Danone, Swatch and Bacardi.

Neil Cotton joins as regional planning director. In his previous role as chief strategy officer and global strategy lead on GSK at Grey, Cotton helped build Grey’s planning discipline at its Singapore hub. With over 25 years’ experience in the industry, Cotton has worked on the biggest client campaigns in London, New York, Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Singapore.

Cotton is also a regular speaker at industry events and frequently lends his voice to industry publications.

“We are very excited to have Iu and Neil on our team here in Singapore,” said David Tang, CEO at DDB Asia. “At a time when we need the best talent to do great marketing, we found two world-class talents – not prima donnas, but hardworking and humble ones.”

“Life’s full of irony. We’ve gone a long way to find Iu from Miami, while Neil was always near our doorstep in Singapore,” he added.
