Created for Aashni and Co Bridal Show, London 2014, the new
spot by Joshua Tree Films features designer Sabyasaachi talking about his personal
interaction with brides over the years.
Shot by Joshua Tree director Zenas Daniel in Sabyasaachi’s studio in Mumbai, the idea of the film was to
touch upon the fact that brides everywhere are the same, with the same
anxieties and insecurities. Sabyasaachi, who was part of the Aashni
and Co Bridal Show, held in London, reflects upon his prior
experiences with brides and muses about the ones he’s going to meet.
The mood of the film while artistic and vintage, is also very fun and light with the fondness that Sabya has for the brides he’s encountered, coming through clearly in his expression.
“The music was something that we worked on for a while. The track needed to accentuate the classic, vintage touch of the film and connect seamlessly with what one was seeing on screen. The conversational tone had to be balanced with the music in the background and we think both Daniel and the music composer Sameeruudin have done a fantastic job on it,” said Joshua Upputuru, the executive producer of the film.
Sabyasaachi is known in India and globally as one of the best designers for Indian ethnic wear and it was important that the essence of his magic touch was conveyed through the film.
“As a production house we did our best to deliver what we promised, especially given the fact that the film was shot without the client being present on location. Since they’d placed immense trust in the team we made sure everything was taken care of right till the very end,” Upputuru added.
