The latest episode in the podcast series, ‘Entrepreneurs in the Wild’ featuring IPA director general, Paul Bainsfair, is now live. Hosted by Iris chair and co-founder, Ian Millner, the series seeks to inspire the next generation of entrepreneurs by uncovering the essential personality traits, skills, and beliefs of diverse entrepreneurial mindsets.
With almost 40 years in the industry, Paul takes listeners through his advertising journey: from starting out at Saatchi & Saatchi to founding his own agencies, all the way to championing diversity at the IPA today.
Ian and Paul pull apart the differences between owning your own business and applying that same entrepreneurial spirit successfully within big agencies, and the good habits that come from both.
Having been in the industry since the ‘70s, Paul also reflects on the rapid changes triggered by technology, as well as discussing how AI will shape the nature of creativity, along with the risks.
Paul goes on to talk about his current role at the IPA and the mission he’s on to increase diversity within the industry.
Finally, he shares the traits of the successful entrepreneurs he’s worked with over his career, revealing how there’s no one-size-fits-all method, along with the things he’d wish he’d known before starting in advertising.
Powered by Iris, the global creative agency, the podcast series launched last month with an interview between Ian and Annika Bizon, Samsung Electronics Marketing and Omnichannel director UK & Ireland and head of MX Ireland.
Guests in the series range from advertising heavyweights to university professors, each sharing their take on entrepreneurial ‘superpowers' and unique perspectives on creativity and business.
