INNOCEAN aims to help Hyundai to do further good by making the cheapest advert possible to allow them to give more money to end cancer worldwide

INNOCEAN UK created a one-off TV advert for Hyundai to celebrate their partnership with Stand up to Cancer. Hyundai were very conscious of getting the right tone with this and of course wanted to do much more than a simple badging exercise on their existing TV ads. Hyundai therefore gave INNOCEAN a simple, yet challenging brief of creating a spot from user generated content captured from their respective fundraising activities, to say thanks to all those that have helped.

Given much of the user generated content wasn’t usable, INNOCEAN struck upon the idea of helping Hyundai to do further good, by deliberately playing with the idea of making the cheapest advert possible by conveying a message through people holding up placards. Everything was stripped back, with agency & Hyundai team members all chipping in on pre-production along with some street casting when it came to filming. Mixed media specialist Director, Luke Roulstone, even shot in hi-8 film to further add to the aesthetic.

Dominic Sweeney, Creative Director at INNOCEAN UK. “This was a great brief to work on from Hyundai. Whilst the ad appears to be ‘cheap’ the message has a true air of class about it.”
