On International Women’s Day, Pony Malta, one of the leading beverages among teens in Colombia, and MullenLowe SSP3 have launched #GirlsSpeak to share powerful messages from young girls across Latin America.
The campaign follows the success of #SheSpeaks, an initiative that encouraged girls to share messages from over 100 inspiring women including Michelle Obama, Christina Koch, Malala Yousafzi, Ladi Gaga, Megan Rapinoe and the late Ruth Bader Ginsburg using one of the most popular features on TikTok, dubbing.
Now, on International Women’s Day, the tables have turned. Pony Malta and MullenLowe SSP3 have launched #GirlsSpeak, to encourage the most influential women in the world to share powerful messages from young girls across Latin America.
To bring #GirlsSpeak to life, 50 speeches from Latin American girls have been selected to be mimed by actresses, artists, singers, politicians and other female leaders on social media and, thanks to their influence, spread the girls’ messages around the world.
Juan Alonso Torres, marketing director for ABInBev’s Pony Malta says: “Female empowerment must start with young girls. They should grow up knowing that they can dare to dream big and be anything they want to be. Following the success of #SheSpeaks, #GirlsSpeak is the perfect way for us to inspire young girls to be the best version of themselves and allow the world to hear what these inspirational young women in Latin America have to say.”
The campaign was devised and executed by MullenLowe SSP3, who added: “Through #SheSpeaks, we wanted young girls to share empowering messages from important women throughout history and encourage them to follow women who really made a difference. Now, for International Women’s Day, we’re calling on influential women to share messages from young women across Latin America to allow the voices of young women in the region to be heard and make them see that one day, they can change the world.”
Pony Malta, with its purpose to inspire all teenagers to be the best version of themselves, is calling on girls around the world to upload their speeches on Instagram Reels or TikTok with the hashtag #GirlsSpeak to prove that it is possible to live in a better and more equal world.
