The Basement is elevating Conrad Edwards to the role of CEO, previously held by co-founder Brian Phillips. Brian along with co-founder Jacob Leffler will become directors, remaining involved with the agency in an advisory role. As CEO, Conrad will lead the agency, its new business strategy and talent acquisition.
“Last year presented incredible challenges as the world moved to work-from-home overnight, and Conrad’s leadership was a steadying force for us through it all,” said Brian. “We’re confident he will be an excellent CEO and build on the momentum we’ve achieved as a team.”
Conrad was hired to the agency in 2019 as COO after several executive roles on the client side. Conrad was VP and chief experience officer for Samsung Electronics America and held similar roles at Motorola and Arthur Andersen. He then went on to serve as chief marketing officer for major wireless industry holding company, Round Room, and its subsidiary TCC, a Verizon retail partner.
“I’m excited to work with such a talented group and help them continue to grow and develop as people and professionals,” said Conrad. “I look forward to helping drive sustainable growth with our existing clients and through new business opportunities. And of course, enhancing our culture of innovation and service will be a top priority.”
With nine new hires in 2020 and already five more added to the team in 2021, the agency is poised for anticipated additional growth this year.
