Filament Post loves a challenge, but in this case it’s the product itself that is setting the challenge. Huawei has laid down the gauntlet to two photographers from opposing technical camps. Working under their social media pseudonyms, photographer Vincent Chapters is a huge fan of black & white photography, whereas Mr Whisper is dedicated to capturing work where vibrant colour is the inspiration.
Both photographers have gained recognition via sharing their amazing work on social media channels and now have huge followings on their Instagram sites.
The challenge is for each to embrace the new dual lenses present in the Huawei P9 phone. One lens captures black and white imagery and the other colour in perfect balance. Each will head off to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and set about creating some amazing images using their dedicated lenses. These will be shared live on social media with a winner being announced after the 2-day challenge.
Filament worked closely with Isobar and Fresh Film director Michael Arnold to complete the post required for the two content films. Each film was taken into Flame where Hani graded the spots in both black & white and colour, furthering the theme set by Huawei. Will Barnett edited both films in-house at Filament.
The final films are engaging and fun to watch and are airing now on Huawei’s social channels.
