Hotspring, the global platform for discovering and collaborating with international VFX talent, announced today the promotion of Arvind Upadhyay to general manager. Arvind’s priority will be strategic project management and expanding the talent network.
Before joining Hotspring, Arvind was part of the core team at Trace VFX. Starting out as a roto artist, Arvind quickly moved up the ranks to become a 2D supervisor – managing a team of over 400 staff and overseeing the QC of thousands of shots a year. With more than eight years of experience under his belt, Arvind’s new role as General Manager will focus on building out workflows, defining feature sets, and supporting the artist teams, from prep work to creative services.
Commenting on the promotion, Jon Mason, co-founder, and CEO at Hotspring said, “To me, Arvind has always represented a lot of the Hotspring spirit - hard-working, smart, fun, and always looking to innovate how we do things. In his role as General Manager, Arvind will be building out the structure and organisation required for scale. As our talent network grows and opportunities arise, we need to grow with it and expand our skillset to meet the moment. Arvind will be leading the charge in making sure both our artists and our clients are in a position to thrive.”
“Arvind is a natural problem solver and brings incredible value to the team. He will be instrumental in managing the network and act as a linchpin across our artist teams as we navigate this period of growth,” added Ben Stallard, managing director of Hotspring.
“My journey with Hotspring has been nothing short of amazing so far and I am excited to dive deeper into what I love doing best: working with people, solving problems for our clients, and creating a supportive environment for our artists where they feel empowered,” commented Arvind.
