Hotels.com cult character Captain Obvious is to appear in the brand’s latest UK ad campaign this week, reminding us that there’s nothing quite like the joy of scoring a Reward Night hotel stay – so much so that no matter how badly your day might end up panning out, the feeling of having at least woken up a winner will stick with you.
Two spots, ‘Sally’, which is scheduled to air in a few weeks and ‘Rav’ – airing on TV, in cinema and on radio - bring this winning feeling to life, as the protagonists each endure a series of comedy mishaps in the course of their day.
Drenched by a passing car, sucker-punched by a slimy octopus or walking into a glass door, nothing can dampen Sally or Rav’s spirits – “Still Winning!” they each tell Captain Obvious, albeit through somewhat gritted teeth.
