EA SPORTS came up with another winner when the company revamped the look and feel of Madden 13. Now Heat, the company’s agency of record, has won two Game Marketing Awards for “Madden Forever,” a series of television and online spots to promote the addictive new game. The campaign was awarded the Gold Award in the “Outstanding Overall Marketing Campaign – Core Games” category, while the very funny “Interview,” an over two-minute spot in which two life-long friends explain their exclusive devotion to the game and each other, took home the Bronze Award in the “Funniest Video Asset” category. The awards were presented at the Game Marketing Summit Awards ceremony on April 17. For a full list of winners, visit

“’Madden Forever’ was a big idea and a big leap of faith from EA,” says Warren Cockrel, Creative Director at Heat. “They whole-heartedly embraced this ridiculous, yet totally believable, campaign. There’s a bit of a rivalry in all of us, and nothing brings that out like playing a little Madden against a worthy opponent.”
