In a lively chat as part of Little Black Book’s Better Together event in London, the panel ‘What Does Production Look Like in 2024 and Beyond?’ ran through what the various forms of production really look like now, and how companies need to adapt to respond to what brands need from their makers. Moderated by LBB’s managing editor, EMEA, Alex Reeves, the session brought together industry leaders, including Tracey Cooper (EP at Riff Raff), Andrew Levene (MD at Stink), Pat Murphy (founder of MCA), Victoria Keenan (head of production at BBH), Tim Page (partner / producer at Heads Up Production) and Paul Ward (president, global network and CEO, UK, Prose on Pixels). Each shared insights on how their companies are retooling to respond to the changing production needs of clients.
Brands produce hundreds, if not thousands of assets a year. Beyond their 30-second TV spots, they’ve got to think about making assets for social media, e-commerce, point of sale, digital OOH, podcasts, live events, and the odd eye-catching tech innovation. At the same time, they’re having to work harder than ever to grab attention. It all has huge implications for craft, tech and logistics. With so much to juggle, and the new challenges and opportunities that are arising, brands, agencies, and production companies are finding different ways to work -– and work together. On stage, the panellists put together the jigsaw of what production really looks like now, and how companies need to adapt, whether that's finding new ways to represent, nurture and connect makers with marketers, or specialising and sticking to a particular corner of the production map.
