Guy Jackson Announced as New Chair of NABS’ Manchester Committee

Guy Jackson, vice-president of global media platform Teads, has been appointed as the new chairman of NABS’ Manchester committee. 

NABS, the support organisation for the advertising and media industry, relaunched its Manchester committee in 2012 to serve the growing numbers of adlanders working in the north. 

Guy takes the reins at a critical time. The industry is starting to feel the long-term effects of the pandemic while tackling the oncoming challenges of hybrid working and returning to the office. Meanwhile, demand for NABS’ services remains high while the organisation needs vital help recouping just over a £1m lost in funding last year due to a number of cancelled fundraising events. 

Guy is one of the founding members of Teads UK, having helped to start the business 10 years ago. He made the move up to Manchester from London at the start of 2017 and, as chairman, will now be devoting his time to supporting advertising and marketing professionals across the region during his two-year tenure. 

Guy says: “I’m passionate about helping northerners in adland to achieve their best work in a sustainable way, and that can only happen by providing them with the first-class wellbeing support that NABS is known for. 

“I know first-hand what it’s like to deal with pressure and busyness at home and at work. I’ve led the growth of Teads in the north while raising a young family, which as many will understand can be stressful as well as exciting. It’s been brilliant having NABS to reach out to when I’ve needed support, and now as chairman I can help to make sure that we can serve everybody in our community with heartfelt care and support.”  

Guy takes over from Nicola Marsh, MD of MediaCom Manchester.
