Dawn Airey, Chief Executive Officer of the world’s leading visual communication company Getty Images, today announced the promotion of two senior officers, Tara Comonte and Craig Peters, to the role of Executive Vice President (EVP).
The announcement follows Dawn’s recent appointment of seven senior officers to Getty Images’ Executive Committee, as the company prepares to capture the consumer market and further expand and strengthen its core B2B content licensing business.
Tara Comonte, currently Senior Vice President (SVP) and Chief Financial Officer, steps into the new role of EVP and Chief Financial and Business Affairs Officer. In addition to overseeing the company’s global Finance, Enterprise Reporting & Analytics and Investor Relations functions, Tara now also assumes leadership of the development of Technology Applications and Platforms, as well as Real Estate and Facilities.
Craig Peters, currently SVP of Business Development, Content and Product, is taking on the new position of EVP and Chief Operating Officer. In addition to his current role managing global strategic partnerships, executing investments, leading acquisitions and pursuing new business opportunities, Craig will now also oversee Technology Development.
Getty Images CEO Dawn Airey comments: “As we continue to scale our business and embrace the opportunities that new platforms and technologies enable, I am delighted to recognize both the strategic and the operational contributions that Tara and Craig have made to our company, and the crucial roles they will play in Getty Images’ future. We have real bench strength in our senior team and Executive Committee and I know that Tara and Craig will provide strong leadership as we move forward and embrace the consumer market.”
Tara and Craig’s promotions to EVP follow a series of recent appointments to Getty Images’ Executive Committee as the company drives forward its strategy for growth. In 2016 alone, Getty Images announced a new Innovation Group spearheaded by Steve Heck, Chief Innovation
Officer; appointed Jon Miller and Nate Gandert to the roles of Chief Information and Technology officers respectively; announced a new Chief Human Resources Officer, Leander LeSure, last week and a new SVP of Communications Jennifer Ferguson earlier this week; and created a further two executive positions, announcing Andrew Hamilton as the SVP of Data & Insights and Steve Grimes as the company’s new Managing Editor & SVP of Consumer Media. In addition, last month Getty Images also appointed Lia Buffa de Feo to the new role of Vice President and General Manager for the company’s consumer print business Photos.com.
