'dm' is the biggest retail store in Germany, and has stores in 12 twelve European countries. This TV campaign is made out of six different films, all shot by director Marcos Mijan. The creative agency was RETALE WIEN, with Giacomo Prestinari editing the spots.
Monster Music composed an original score and sound design for all six of the films from production company STILL AND MOVING PRODUCTIONS, and editor Giamcomo Prestinari.
Every film tells a different story, and touches a different human sense. All the films will be released over the next two years. Right now there are two films that have aired - Anna and Sight, and Amanda and Touch.
Monster music was part of the team responsible for original music composition, production magic and sound design, for all the six films. The idea was to give it a beautiful and magical essence and a haunting melody, and still keep it natural and interesting - powerful and original.
The idea was also to create an audio recognition with the brand 'dm' even though the films were very different. The music gives the campaign a 'wholeness' and connects the customer to the brand.
The team at Monster Music commented: "We recorded some beautiful strings for these films in London. One of our favourite cello players in London also gave it a unique, magical touch - which was the exact feeling we were looking for in this original score. We built the score with live strings and natural instrument effects, ambient sounds and sound design and electronics to give it a natural growth and support the energy of each film and its own unique energy."
