German Production Studios Sehsucht and Liga 01 Join Forces

Award-winning creative production companies, Sehsucht and Liga 01 have announced today that they are joining forces, unifying under a single brand; Sehsucht.

This partnership will see the studios combine their talent pool and specialist skills to create a new generation of production powerhouse, working alongside clients and brands globally. With around 80 employees across their studios in Berlin, Hamburg and Munich, this merger creates a heavy weight multi-disciplinary offering, providing award winning creative, production, design, emerging technologies and post-production, all under one roof.

Sehsucht and Liga 01, both individually responsible for heavily influencing the German animation and design landscape, have been creating premium content for international brands and advertising agencies for around 20 years each. Working on projects ranging from the development of complex character animations, elaborate VFX, VR, AR and live action films.

Moving forward this new partnership will have a strong emphasis on 'Creation & Craft' - sophisticated creation crafted with both excellent technicality and creativity, pushing the production house model into a new era and strengthening the studio’s position as a top player for design and CGI productions internationally.

The company’s three owners and partners, Martin Woelke, Ole Peters and Pablo Bach, also plan to use the merger to expand the company’s production structure and offerings, including the development of new multidimensional media format such as VR (virtual reality), AR (augmented reality) and XR (mixed and extended reality).

Pablo Bach, new partner and CEO, who will lead the group's cross-location content production says: "Our merger will create an even stronger and more effective production platform that will make us one of the top addresses for high-end motion picture creation.”

Martin Woelke, the original founder of Sehsucht, whose new role will take over the organisational and strategic management of the new company says: “We are currently experiencing a growing audience for top-class design performance in conjunction with 'German Engineering'. Therefore the merger with Liga 01 comes at exactly the right time to develop new interactive communication services, together with our customers, in both classic film formats and VR/AR/XR formats."
