London based production and talent management company, COMPULSORY, share the second instalment of their collaboration with Gucci, after their worldwide hit with the Gucci x The North Face campaign from earlier this year. For ‘In The Garden with Gucci’ they utilised the same creative team to showcase the brand’s Off The Grid collection in the context of a quintessential English country garden.
In the piece, Gerald Stratford, a retired fisherman, champion gardener and unexpected social media sensation, guides our cast of city dwellers through his garden and shows them how to cultivate their own food. His natural passion for sustainability and teaching others about how to care for a garden makes him the perfect mentor for our cast and audience.
Alongside the campaign we are also invited to join Gerald in his shed as he shares his top tips for gardening in his ‘Growing Guides’. In these guides Gerald shares some insights such as how you can be more resourceful by using old milk cartons to grow a lettuce, and that plants like music. It’s not all about how to grow a big vegetable, the most important thing to Gerald is that people have a good time enjoying the outside world.
Gucci’s OFF THE GRID capsule collection is designed with environmentalism in mind, using only recycled, organic, bio-based and sustainably sourced materials. This collection is at the heart of Gucci’s mission to bring positive change to their own brand and the planet as a whole.
