Geometry UK has announced the promotion of Debbie Ellison to the newly created role of chief digital officer. Reporting to Michelle Whelan, CEO Geometry UK, Debbie joins the agency ExCo.

The role becomes effective immediately. Debbie’s new responsibilities include driving business innovation through technology, accelerating new digital commerce capabilities and powering-up omni channel opportunities for clients’ brands.

Explains Michelle Whelan, Geometry UK CEO: “Many of our clients are looking to transform their businesses by leveraging marketing and retail technology and connected ecosystems. Debbie’s new role will help navigate new consumption moments, new retail channels and drive growth seamlessly between screen and shelf.”

She continued: “Debbie is forward-looking and entrepreneurial, inspiring teams and clients alike. Her ability to innovate and steer through the complexity of omnichannel strategies is exceptional. On top of all that, she is a passionate champion of diversity and inclusion. We are hugely proud to recognise this very special person.”

Geometry UK has become a global network centre of excellence for digital and ecommerce. Over the past twelve months, under Debbie’s leadership, agency innovation has included The Flagship, an immersive retail innovation space helping explore the retail experience of the future for Walgreens Boots Alliance; in-store planning for Evergreen Garden Care; and category management strategies for Kimberly-Clark.

The Flagship is set to roll out to the US, Argentina, India and China.

Recent e-commerce product launches include sensory reality marketing, E-Commerce Accelerator and Amazon Managed Services, helping brands win in non-owned spaces. Further proprietary platforms are set to be introduced later this year.

Says Debbie: “As more channels become available, creating differentiated experiences to drive brand growth has become both a challenge and an opportunity. It’s an exciting space in time for business and I’m thrilled to be leading change with my exceptional colleagues at Geometry.”

Debbie was formerly head of digital, Geometry UK. She has lectured at Cambridge University, Condé Nast’s College of Fashion & Design and is an active member of UK charity, Speakers for Schools. In 2016, Debbie was named a Woman of Tomorrow [tech and innovation category] by the IPA and Campaign. Her views are frequently sought by the media. Most importantly, she is a young mum.
