FX Networks Unveils New Digital Redesign Created by Elephant

FX Networks, the global entertainment television company, has unveiled a new website designed by IPG creative company Elephant. The brand worked with Elephant on a full-scale redesign that both celebrates the unique ideas of each creator and show under the brand’s umbrella, and holds them all together under FX Networks’ brand identity.

“As a company we love opportunities where digital product design and brand come together,” said Elephant chief creative officer Chris May. “What was really exciting about this project was thinking about how the identity and personality of each show in FX Networks could really come through in the experience.”

Elephant handled strategy and experience design for the project, breathing new life into every aspect of the FX experience with a bold new ‘content first’ approach that allowed the personality of each show to shine through. The process relied heavily on prototyping in Principle to give the FX team a true view of how moving image would be handled in the live experience.

Elephant carried out user testing and research on key concepts and optimised the experience around three key user goals: show discovery, browsing episodes, and exclusive downloadable content.

Focusing on these key areas helped Elephant improve the overall experience while also ensuring the site met best practice accessibility standards.

The digital redesign was an opportunity to evolve aspects of the brand, from how colour is used to adding a new typeface. As the work developed, it was a case of looking at all the shows, and the rich content surrounding them to make sure the design really embraced that.
