Friend Welcomes Director Saman Kesh to Roster

Friend has welcomed LA-based director Saman Kesh to its directing team. Coming at the industry from a uniquely surreal and somewhat sardonic angle, Saman’s work manages to exhibit a creativity and humour which feels totally fresh and contemporary amongst his peers.

Starting out in the world of music video, Saman first made big waves in content with his SXSW award-winning promo for Cinnamon Chasers’ ‘Luv Delux’ which chronicled a couple’s deadly joyride across America. Lo-fi yet inventive, the energy of the piece captivated the internet with Saman’s trademark style and humanist approach to dark humour.

From there, it’s been a non-stop downpour of music videos and commercials, all with the same undisputed creative flair; from a narrative-driven piece for Vimeo poking fun at modern marketing (‘Advertisements Suck’) through to his famous, full-force Taco Bell Super Bowl spot.

"My name is Saman Kesh.

Whether it’s a blessing or curse, I love ambitious things that move like freight trains.

I like things that have a shit ton of energy, but with a lot of human emotion too.

Sitting still is death, and I’m here to make sure we keep the train moving."
