Friday Tunes: A Jump-start to the Summer Music Spell

Festival season is just underway, so I picked out some of my favorite songs whose edgy, experimental, very licensable, and just plain cool vibes are the perfect way to jump-start the summer music spell.

Glitchy, cheeky, and punchy – these are the sounds that are challenging music industry conventions all over the world. Among the 16 artists featured here is Pegasvs, a Barcelona-based kraut-pop duo who blend '80s electronica with motoric pop for some crazy cool sounds. Then there’s Celine Neon, the pastel-hued staple of Chicago’s indie scene and self-described producers of “club-ready grime-pop for the huntress.” Dipcrusher and his jungle vibes. Madjo and her celestial serenades. North by North and their ghost-punk phantasms.
