Christmas with The Meringue Girls, featuring London duo Alex Hoffler and Stacey O'Gorman taps into the zeitgeist of fashionable food and will air in the run up to Christmas. The girls met whilst working in a restaurant in Hackney and between them are single-handedly making meringues uber-cool.
Hotpot Pictures spotted The Meringue Girls in the summer and thought them perfect to sit alongside Waitrose's ever growing stable of well known on-screen personalities. Pitched as a fun packed series featuring alternative Christmas recipes, each episode is full of character, Christmassy tips and lots of colourful sugar! Creating entertaining concepts to pair brands with upcoming onscreen talent is a key part of Hotpot's ongoing strategy and early indications suggest this latest series will attract a new generation to Waitrose TV throughout the festive season. You can view the first episode here.
The three part series, featuring recipes including 'Mince Pie Meringue Kisses' and 'Chocolate Orange Teacakes', was Directed by Jayne Hibbitt-Smith on location at Meringue Girls HQ, a quirky East End bakery and on the ice at The Natural History Museum. "The girls were great fun to work with and incredibly professional, they have a great brand image and fabulous products perfect for the Waitrose audience" says Hibbitt-Smith.
A snapshot of London's fashionable food scene, Christmas with The Meringue Girls airs on today (November 28th) on Waitrose TV and expects to draw in the Christmas crowds across two further episodes each Friday in the run up to Christmas.
