Filming took place across a variety of FilmFixer London boroughs

Netflix’s smash hit series sees the royal saga move into the ‘Nasty 90’s’, in a turbulent period for the royal family.

Filming took place across a variety of FilmFixer London boroughs, starting with Southwark. The Jack Hobbs Community Centre and the Rachel Leigh Community Centre, both on Brandon Estate, were featured hosting Prince’s Trust events. The production gave donations to the The Residents Association at Brandon Estate and worked closely with the residents throughout. Maddock Way also makes an appearance when Prince Charles (played by Dominic West) meets groups of local teenagers.

Eagle-eyed location spotters will also recognise Moscow School on Kimpton Road, as well as exterior shots of Camberwell Magistrate’s High Court.

Drone footage captured Albert Bridge in all its glory, and traffic management from FilmFixer allowed for Cadogan Square to be dressed to suit the early 1990’s with period-appropriate vehicles. Look out too for Launceston Place, which was used for a dinner scene where Diana (Elizabeth Debicki) and Dodi Fayed (Khalid Abdalla) are snapped by paparazzi.

Over in North London, the FilmFixer borough of Islington provided locations with Belitha Villas, and Charterhouse Square which was used for a scene where Charles discusses the breakdown of his marriage to John Major

In a clever piece of set dressing, Worship Street doubled up for a Hong Kong as Prince Charles travels to see the territory being handed back to the Chinese government.

The FilmFixer borough of Hounslow in West London features the Holy Trinity church, which provided the interior setting for a religious service, with vox pop interviews featuring the public being filmed on the exterior. FilmFixer London boroughs of Camden and Barnet also feature.

SetReady trainees had hands on experience as on-set marshals.
