Director Will Felix Clark of MindsEye worked closely with the Filament Post team to create his comic new spot for Fisherman’s Friend.
The advert features the World-renowned Tenor Alfie Boe.
As the Tenor performs his vocal singing exercises it becomes clear that he’s just not going to hit the upper notes. With the simple selection of an original flavoured lozenge, he is blown away with a menthol hit to challenge all others. The combination of menthol and eucalyptus in Fisherman’s Friend helps him to blast out a rousing note that not only shatters glass, but also splits his dressing room apart.
This is an uplifting and amusing spot that is made all the more funny by Boe’s comedic facial expressions.
Filament was tasked with creating the cracks and shattering debris caused by the Tenor’s incredible voice. The exploding lamps and glass were shot in camera, so the team used these as references. They built CGi cracks in the plaster and enhanced the whole scene with dust elements created in Flame where Hani also performed the final grade.
