Last week witnessed another amazing Cannes Lions. So, after all its excesses it’s humbling to view the latest film for Organ Donation Wales.
The uncomplicated and direct film sets out to alert the residents of Wales to the options and schemes that are now established, relating to organ donation in their country.
Such a sensitive subject warrants a thought provoking and responsible film, which showcases engaging and natural performances.
Filament Post was delighted to work with Golley Slater on this poignant campaign. Hani AlYousif was involved from an early stage and headed to Wales for the three-day shoot in advance of any postproduction commencing.
The key challenge was to design a fully CG countdown clock to insert both into the actors’ skin and under fabric. The Filament team was also briefed to create a natural look for the implant, whilst ensuring the clock was legible under clothing. For the latter, a balance of fabric transparency and glowing numbers did the trick.
The ads were shot twice, one for each of the spoken English and Welsh scripts.
A tight deadline dictated that a fast turnaround was imperative. Filament’s workflow and latest Flame technology ensured that the four-day turnaround was met.
The final film displays an astute combination of 3D and 2D and Filament are currently working on the next six films in the campaign.
