FCB today announced that FCB Chicago CCO Andrés Ordóñez has been promoted and will become the agency’s next global CCO. Andrés’ appointment follows the elevation of Susan Credle, the highly decorated outgoing CCO, to a historic new role as the first-ever creative advisor for IPG, FCB’s parent company. Susan will remain global chair of FCB through the end of this year and will work hand in hand with Andrés to establish a smooth transition across the FCB network.

A Bogotá, Colombia native, Andrés is one of the most decorated creatives in the advertising industry with 20+ years of experience helping brands craft their narratives. During his four-year tenure at FCB Chicago, Andrés has been a major driver behind the agency’s growth, winning new business from brands including Danone, Terminix and United States Postal Service, and growing business organically with Chicago’s long-standing clients, such as Cox Communications and The Clorox Company. As the newest member of FCB’s Global Leadership Team, Andrés will partner closely with global CEO Tyler Turnbull to further the agency’s ambition to prove that creativity is an economic multiplier for business growth.

Following Andrés’ arrival in 2019, FCB Chicago has added over 40 new brands to its client roster and played a key role in IPG being named lead creative partner for Pfizer in one of the industry’s largest reviews of 2023. Andrés has also overseen FCB Chicago’s most impactful creative platforms, including Cottonelle’s “DownThereCare,” City of Chicago’s “Boards of Change” and a variety of work for The Clorox Company brands including Glad’s “It’s All Glad,” Fresh Step’s “Adopt a Stray” and Clorox’s own “Start Clean.”

“At FCB we have always believed that ‘Creative is the business, and the business is creative.’ Andrés truly embodies this and has demonstrated time and again that he can build lasting partnerships with clients by using creativity in wildly different forms to deliver transformative work that generates business results,” said FCB’s global CEO Tyler Turnbull. “I couldn’t be more excited for this next chapter at FCB and for Andrés to continue to demonstrate and stand up for the economic power of creativity.”

“For almost a decade, FCB has been building a strong culture across all our agencies. To have Andrés take over the role of Global CCO ensures that we keep that culture intact while defining the next iteration of the role, as we head into what is sure to be a continued run of creative brilliance and growth,” added Susan Credle. “What’s more, Andrés will be supported by the deepest, most diverse creative bench in the industry, starting with Danilo Boer and including Nancy Crimi-Lamanna, Michael Aimette, Owen Lee, Peter Vegas and Leisa Wall, and so many others in Brazil, India and beyond – a truly incredible global network of talent. I’m excited to see where our #NVRFNSHD spirit under Andres’ leadership takes FCB.”

“Since joining FCB, as with any other place I’ve worked, I’ve examined our own brand to understand its essence – what makes us who we are,” Andrés said. “Our goal at FCB is to craft work that drives business in the short term and builds brands over the long term, and the way we get there is to empower each of our offices to bring together their best minds to do their best work and to partner closely with our clients. I am incredibly fortunate to be building upon a record of creative excellence established by Susan. What I usually say is, ‘Follow the work, and the rest will come.’”

Andrés grew up surrounded by advertising – his mother was an advertising model and his father ran an agency. After winning a place at Miami Ad School, he started his career at BBDO Puerto Rico, then moved to Zubi Miami and Bravo before landing at Energy BBDO, which he joined in 2014 as a creative director. His career includes partnering with a diverse list of the world’s most iconic brands, including Pfizer, The Clorox Company, MARS/Wrigley, Danone, Ford, Pepsi and Walmart, and Andrés has collected hundreds of industry accolades, including Cannes Lions (two Titanium, three Grand Prix), Effies, D&AD, One Show Pencils, ADC, Clios and many more. He has been ranked as one of the top creative minds in the business by Cannes Lions, Adweek, The One Show, The Drum, Campaign and other outlets.
