Fall Under the Spell of ITV's Fairytale Themed 'Summer of Soaps' Trailer

Coronation Street and Emmerdale join forces in ITV’s new fairy tale themed summer promo, that hints at several new storylines coming up during their ‘Summer of Soaps’.

The ad was made by the channel’s in-house team ITV Creative, directed by Michael Baldwin, and features actors from both Coronation Street and Emmerdale channeling some well known fairy tale characters.

Colourist Simone Grattarola commented on working on the promo, “Mike and Alex (Melman – DOP) shot this lovely spot using the F65 which was really interesting to work with. We graded straight from the raw files, which gave us great latitude and built on the fine photography and art direction in the piece. The camera handles the skin tones really well and we accentuated certain primary colours for each vignette to bring out the feeling of each children’s tale, whilst keeping a consistent tone of heightened realism throughout.”
