The Warboard shows the number of homicides in Brazil compared to fatalities in war-ravished countries like Syria, Iraq and Libya
Violence is one of greatest troubles for Brazil and the number of homicides in the country is the most telling indicator of the problem.
The number of murders in Brazil is even more alarming when compared to the fatalities in international wars. To draw attention to this alarming scenario, Estadão and FCB Brasil launched the Warboard.
Through a digital platform, the Warboard shows the number of homicides in Brazil compared to fatalities in war-ravished countries like Syria, Iraq and Libya. Also, the portal will be updated in real time with news about fatalities both in Brazil and in countries at war.
The Warboard action is part of a series of initiatives by Estadão that aim at generating awareness, promoting debates and driving the pursuit for a solution to this dismal reality in the country. "Violence in Brazil has become a commonplace subject, though it has a very negative direct impact on the lives of Brazilians." It is essential that we draw attention to this critical problem and from there start looking for solutions," explains Marcelo Moraes, Marketing Director at Estadão.
"It is important to show that Brazil is experiencing a non-official war. The situation is shocking and must be highlighted," adds Joana Monteiro, CCO for FCB Brasil.
Besides the online platform, the action will also be publicised in OOH and digital pieces.
