Full-service marketing communications agency Erwin Penland announced today that it has added three new hires to its creative team in the New York office, effective immediately.
Steve Rodriguez joins the agency as SVP/Creative Services Director, having previously served as Director of Creative Services and Talent at Saatchi & Saatchi NY. In this newly created role, he will report to Chief Creative Officer Con Williamson and support him in the overall operation of the creative department, including staffing allocation, work assignments, hiring and other operational areas that contribute to the smooth functioning of the department.
“We’re excited to have Steve on board at EP in New York to help create an even stronger bridge between our two offices,” said Williamson. “With so many people moving in all directions, we know we can count on him to improve work flow and more importantly, have a focus on keeping our culture intact.”
Rodriguez’s creative experience stems from positions at BBH NY and Anomaly, where he was responsible for resurrecting the dormant New York Cosmos brand. He has also worked with top brands including P&G, General Mills, Vaseline and Johnny Walker.
The agency also welcomes creative team Kristofer Delaney and Danny McHatton, both joining as VP/Creative Directors. In their new roles, Delany and McHatton will work primarily on the Denny's and Verizon accounts while also serving as part of the core new business team and reporting to John Cornette, SVP/Executive Creative Director.
Delaney, most recently a Creative Director at Digitas New York, has worked on numerous leading brands including American Express, HP and Kodak. He has also held stints at BBDO and Publicis. McHatton has previously worked at Publicis Kaplan Thaler and mcgarrybowen on clients including P&G, Bobble and Crayola.
The addition of these new hires comes as the agency continues to build its creative team in New York to serve present clients including Denny’s, Verizon and Microsoft, as well as prepare to support future clients with stronger creative offerings and seamless integration between the South Carolina and New York locations.
