The acquisition will see Engine Room Productions provide beyond production assets, moving into directorial ventures

Expanding its offering in the production sector, Engine Room Productions, part of the Redengine SCC Group, announce the acquisition of SixtyFour Films, effective immediately.

The acquisition will see Engine Room Productions incorporate the SixtyFour Films team and offering into its Sydney-based operation. SixtyFour Films was originally established in 2012 to service the growing demand for branded video content across digital and social platforms. Its clients include Nimble, Pernod Ricard, News, Tag Heuer and Service NSW.

Engine Room Productions managing director, Adrian Hyde, says: “The market now demands production companies go above and beyond just making production assets to also provide creative and director capabilities in a fully integrated service that removes unnecessary layers and drives agility and cost efficiency. This married with outstanding customer service is the production company of the now and the future.

“We have found these values align perfectly with the leadership team at SixtyFour Films and I’m super excited about the next chapter for our business. I’ve long been an admirer of SixtyFour and the work they produce, and this acquisition gives both Engine Room and SixtyFour clients access to a deeper level of creative resources and service.”

SixtyFour Films managing director, Ezra Auperle, says: “We are thrilled to join the Redengine SCC Group family. The acquisition allows us to continue to deliver the services we are known for whilst broadening our capabilities and significantly increasing our production and creative resources.

“Engine Room Productions shares the same core values and commitment to building the production company of the future as we do. Since joining the team it has become even more apparent that both leadership teams are aligned with the future direction of the company.”

Adds Julian Townley, CEO and founder of Redengine SCC Group, that Engine Room Productions sits within: “In its own right, Engine Room Productions has grown rapidly to become a dominant player in the production landscape in Australia servicing its incredible range of clients.

“Like everything we do, this move is all about providing our clients with the best creative minds in the game, and a first-rate customer experience. The acquisition of SixtyFour Films and its talented team sets us up for continued growth and success.”
