GAIA, or Global Action in the Interest of Animals in Belgium, turns 25 this year. Throughout the years they put a lot of passion into uniting the defenders of animal rights and welfare and stood up for the cause in countless ways. The new campaign for GAIA needed new ways to raise awareness of animal suffering. The goal was to truly affect people.
The new film which so powerfully speaks about the animal suffering, directed by Guy Goossens, took a lot of extensive preparation and collaborative team work with the agency - FLEXUS and GAIA themselves. It has presented a creative challenge from the start, not least because the lead actor, a real goose, had to be found, and rehearsed. In most difficult parts of the goose’s performance the bird had to be helped by 3D/VFX, but otherwise performed brilliantly.
An international team of masters and 16 weeks in post-production brought to life an emotional story that will not leave anyone untouched.
GAIA is justifiably proud of what they have achieved during the past 25 years. And they are clearly ready to meet the challenges they will face over the next 25 years.
