Animation and design are not the only inhabitants of Electric Studios' cosy Brick Lane home: Matt Shannon is the latest recruit to join the rapidly growing team. In his new role as executive producer, he will help push Electric studios’ diverse offering, whilst providing clients with seamless production support along the way.
Joining from Analog, Matt has spent the previous eight years overseeing motion design and visual effects projects. Prior to that, he held stints at immersive technology studio Visualise, and Melbourne-based Studio Round. Across the course of his career, he’s collaborated with talent including C Prinz, Mau Morgo and Andrew Thomas Huang and brands such as Apple, Balenciaga and Netflix. The latter, which involved a rebrand from streaming-service to-content-studio marks a career highlight - as does a creative technology project with Bjork and The Gorillaz. Fancy!
In his own words, “I’ve had a varied career, ranging from magazines, to tech, animation. But the one constant has always been a love for unique problem solving - whether that’s creative or technical. Being an EP in this industry allows me to be a part of the creative jigsaw. For Electric Studios, there is no rule book. I’m excited to see how far we can take it.”
Electric Studios MD, Ben Honour, added, “Matt is exactly the right fit for our evolving studio. The last year has seen us craft traditional animation, OOH installations, deep-screen offerings and motion graphics to boot. Matt’s experience ranges across all these practices, and I know our clients will love working with him, too.”
