Independent media agency Electric Glue today announced that Paul Barrett has been appointed as director of partnerships, responsible for formulating strategic alliances with other businesses and maximising partnership opportunities, among other duties.
Paul recently left Sky, where he served for eight years as head of commercial partnerships. He achieved successes in key areas including sport, business scale-ups and sustainability. He takes up the newly created role this week.
Electric Glue co-founder Simon Orpin said, “We are delighted to have attracted someone of Paul’s calibre. Creative and innovative multi-platform partnerships are part of the DNA at Electric Glue and Paul’s contribution will help us enhance and develop our relationships with clients. In particular he will help us shine a light on the partnership process where we have strong roots and expertise.”
Paul said, “Electric Glue has an outstanding reputation for ground-breaking partnerships, making it one of the most exciting independents in the market. They work with media owners as true business partners by connecting clients into multiple areas of the media ecosystem to drive greater value. It’s a brand and a team that I have long admired, so the chance to be part of that was too good to resist.”
He added, “Sky has done great work to reduce its environmental impact with The Sky Zero Footprint Fund, and Electric Glue is a proud B Corp, one of only a handful in our industry. So this felt like the perfect opportunity to make the leap from progressive media owner to innovative media agency.”
Before Sky, Paul was head of marketing partnerships at Channel 5 and earlier in his career he worked at ids, Flextech and Carlton.
