Editor Julie Gannon Joins Optimus Santa Monica Office

Optimus Editor Julie Gannon is joining the leading production and post house’s Santa Monica office after almost 10 years at the Chicago headquarters. Gannon has worked on clients including Blue Cross Blue Shield, Capital One, Capri Sun, Coca-Cola, Ford, McDonald’s, Miracle Whip and Taco Bell, among others. Fluent in Spanish, Gannon also has cut a significant body of Hispanic work.

“We’re thrilled for Julie to join our Santa Monica team,” said Optimus Executive Producer/Managing Director Therese Hunsberger. “Her experience in Chicago coupled with her innate proficiency for editing has provided Julie with skill and knowledge that keep her in high demand with clients. We are excited to bring her unique talent to the West Coast.”

Promoted to the chair at Optimus in 2010, she started there in 2007 as an assistant editor. Before that, she was at Avenue Edit and Outsider, respectively, as an assistant editor at both firms. She began her career in 2004 as an associate editor at Swell after graduating from Washington University in St. Louis with a bachelor’s degree. A native Californian, Gannon is moving with her husband, Brian, to be back home.
