In a campaign designed to highlight Andrex’s new toilet-training app, GoTime, Omnicom Media Group agencies, DRUM and PHD, have enlisted the help of early 00’s garage sensations, DJ Pied Piper & The Masters of Ceremonies. The group has recorded a brand-new rework of their 2001 UK #1 hit single ‘Do You Really Like It?’
Chosen to appeal to the parents who were out partying when the original song was released, the track has been given a toilet-themed twist, highlighting both the stressful and successful moments that parents and children go through when learning to go to the toilet.
From fresh rap lyrics to fart sounds, the campaign is aimed at parents looking to get their children using the potty or toilet all by themselves: “All you want is a clean bum / And them to smile and say / I’m done!” It’s the most bonkers and brilliantly infectious track you'll hear all year.
After developing the lyrics, DRUM took the poo-inspired remix to the original artists to record the new song, which forms the foundations of a fun, larger-than-life music video, created by Chloe Victoria Hughes and RadicalMedia.
With a huge toilet, bathtub and rubber duck in tow, the vibrant visuals are packed with references to the original track’s early 00’s roots, bringing to life the idea that teaching kids how to use the toilet on their own isn’t just educational, but also a lot of fun.
The music video and cutdowns are being launched today (June 6) on Andrex’s social channels, supported by paid media across TikTok and Meta.
In addition to the social media activity, the music video will be shown at a number of events this summer as part of a partnership with Raver Tots, the UK's biggest family friendly rave and festival brand. Thousands of parent and child ravers will be able to sing and dance along to the video as it plays out on the big screens on the festival’s main stage at different intervals throughout the summer.
Speaking about the new track, DJ Pied Piper & The Masters of Ceremonies said, “Teaming up with Andrex to rework such a special tune "Do You Really Like It" was madness! To twist those fun party lyrics into something that can help parents and young children with potty training was challenging but the result was worth it. Stepping back in the booth with the boys for the campaign was crazy and we are excited to share this new version with everyone.”
Louise Harrop, Andrex’s senior brand manager of consumer engagement also added, “Andrex wants to help families build confidence in the bathroom and toilet training with our GoTime app is a great place to start! Our campaign highlights the highs and lows of potty training with a unique take on a much-loved classic song. We hope potty training parents and children will be singing "You will really like it! When they learn to wipe it" all summer long.”
Lee Tarrier, senior creative at DRUM added, “When looking to highlight GoTime for parents going through the toilet training process, it felt right to do so in a light-hearted way and by bringing back a garage classic from parents’ own youth. It was a lot of fun to work with a client that embraced our vision and musical artists that fully bought into the playful tone we wanted to create.”
